About These Resources
These practical resources were developed to help improve communication, care, and support for people who are d/Deaf, Deaf, hard of hearing, or who experience hearing loss.
Informed by community voices and our research, ‘Exploring Help-Seeking Experiences in the Health System Among People With Deafness or Hearing Loss and Mental Health Concerns’, the resources reflect lived experiences and highlight what inclusive, person-centred support can look like—whether you’re a healthcare provider, support worker, or someone looking to communicate more effectively in everyday life.
Explore three tools:
- Everyday Communication tips for better communication for everyone
- Inclusive Healthcare practical strategies for health professionals
- Building Competency guidance for those working directly with people with d/Deafness or with hearing loss
Together, these resources aim to foster greater understanding, connection, and equity in both health and community settings—and contribute to improved hearing health, mental wellbeing, and overall health equity.
